Organic Fertilizer

Organic fertilizer is a Natural Slow Release type of fertilizer. This means it will feed your plants and lawns for a longer period of time, usually up to 3 months. Organic fertilizers have smaller numbers in the analysis such as 6‑2‑0. However organic fertilizers condition the soil over time so that plants are able to make better use of the smaller amounts of nutrients than traditional synthetic made fertilizers with higher numbers. Most organic fertilizers have micronutrients, which are important for plant development. This is like giving your plants a complete and balanced feeding. (like having a meal of meat, potatoes, and vegetables) Synthetic fertilizers do not always contain micronutrients, so it is like having a meal of potatoes and vegetables with no meat.

Green Earth Bone Meal 2-14-0

Bone Meal is a 2‑14‑0 analysis. This means it is low in nitrogen (2), high in phosphorus (14), and no potash (0). Nitrogen is used by plants for top growth (above the soil). Phosphorus is used by plants for root development, and flower development (below the soil). Potash is used by plants for overall hardiness to strengthen the plant and to resist disease. Therefore the numbers are for up, down, all around. Bone Meal is best suited for using when planting bulbs in the spring or fall, when planting new shrubs, perennials, trees and evergreens for getting the roots growing. Also for flowering plants to promote bigger, colourful, and more blooms. Will feed for 3 months. A growing season for most plants is 6 months. Bone Meal is Granular for easy application. Not dusty.
